The HealthSource Case Study
The Challenge:
In January, 2005, Palomar Pomerado Health launched a new "two-in-one" health education magazine called The HealthSource/The BabySource. The new publication was created to serve as PPH's primary means of communicating health news and education opportunities to the people residing in its 800-square-mile service area. It also replaced two previous printed pieces including PPH's quarterly community education calendar and WellSpring publication. The unique style of this magazine features The HealthSource on one side – containing a wealth of information about upcoming special events, support groups, health screenings, classes and more; and The BabySource on the other side – a health resource
designed specifically for new and expecting parents.
Chase Design Solution:
The marketing department at PPH collaborated closely with Chris Chase and Chase Design to conceptualize and design the inaugural 7" X 8.5" 22-page issue which has since grown to a full 8.5" X 11" 30-page publication that mails to 90,000 people three times a year. The HealthSource side of the publication is targeted to women and men age 36 and above, while The BabySource side of the publication is targeted to women and men between the ages of 25 and 35.
Testimonial:
"Chase Design has been an integral part of the success of this publication – creating an "easy to read" design that is consumer friendly. This was a challenging, very deadline-oriented and detailed project to take on, and Chase Design rose to the occasion to create a beautiful piece. Thank you!"
